MakIt Plate Review

Makit has been in business for over 40 years. Make A Plate kits allow children to let their creativity soar in crafting a lasting gift for Mom, Dad, Grandparent or teacher. All Make A Plates are nontoxic, BPA-Free, dishwasher safe and proudly made in the USA.

When we had the opportunity to do this review we were so excited.  My kids love coloring pictures and doing art projects.  The especially love when it is more permanent.   This was the perfect project for them.  It is also so fun for them to be able to make something and keep it for a ling time and be able to look at it when they are older and enjoy seeing what interests they had when they were young.

This was an easy process.  The Pre-Paid Kit came with 25 templates so there was plenty to start over when you are just doing a few plates.  The kit also comes with the right markers that you need for the project.  I loved that about the project because then I didn't have to worry about finding the right non-toxic washable markers to work with the requirements.

First you have to draw your pictures onto the templates to be able to send in.  My kids loved doing this.  They ended up drawing extra and chose which ones they wanted to actually use on their plates. We also made our own make shift light box because they decided they wanted to trace something and then color it.  That was fine with me because I know how much more my kids like to color in coloring books rather than just draw.  They did also do some drawings of their own too.

They had a lot of fun choosing their own colors and making it personal.

I ended up also having my husband draw the third plate.  I wanted it to be fair and he had something cool he wanted to try out so it worked out perfect.

Here were all the finished drawings that the kids chose from.

Once your templates are done you mail them back to the company in the pre-addressed envelope provided in the kit. Then you wait for your plates to arrive. :)

My kids were so excited the plates arrived they wanted to open them right away.  It was a fun process for them and since they had to wait, they were even more excited for them to arrive.  It didn't take too long.  It was only about a week in a half to two weeks we got them back after me mailing them out.

Here are the finished products.

This was very fun project for my kids.  I was very impressed with the process and how easy and fast the return was.  They keep asking when they get to do it again.  I love the MakIt idea!!  It is a great product that I will definitely use again and recommend you give it a try. This project would be fun for any age and would make a great gift.  I would recommend this project as a gift or something fun for a parent to do with a child.
