Jello Salad Recipe

Recipe for the month of July
Perfect for your 4th of July BBQ

This is another family favorite.  It is a go to for any pot luck dinners.  My mom has been making this jello as long as I can remember.  I have made this recipe several times and each time get asked for the recipe.  It is different than most jello salad recipes out there.  It doesn't have many of the things that I don't like in my jello salad.  Growing up in Utah you get jello salad at almost every function you go to where a meal is served.  I don't know how people mess up jello but YES it is possible.  I personally don't like my jello salad with marshmallows or cottage cheese.  I just don't think they belong with jello but yet people still eat it.  Whatever floats their boat I guess.  This recipe I am going to share with you today is MY personal favorite jello recipe.  Thank you mom for letting me grow up with delicious jello salad rather than that other yucky stuff.

 So delicious!! :)

Summer Jello Salad

3 Cups water
1-3 oz Pkg Jello Cook and Serve Tapioca Pudding
(Instant tapioca pudding does not work for this recipe)
1-3 oz Pkg Cook and Serve Vanilla Pudding (not instant)
1-3 oz Pkg Strawberry Jello
2 Cups Strawberries
1-12 oz Container Whipped Topping

For a variation of this recipe I also like to use orange flavored jello and mandarin oranges or raspberry flavored jello with raspberries in place of the strawberry flavors.

Add water, tapioca pudding, vanilla pudding, and flavored jello into a saucepan

Over a medium high heat bring these ingredients to a boil stirring constantly.

Once it comes to a boil remove from heat and place in a large bowl to be refrigerated.  Refrigerate until it just starts to set and is barely getting jiggly.

Once you have it starting to set remove from refrigerator and add strawberries and whipped topping.  Fold into jello mixture.  Don't over mix otherwise your jello salad will lose the fluffy texture.

Your end result should look light and fluffy.

Keep posted for more recipes to come.
